Compare the Subaru Crosstrek to the Competition Why Cross over to the more Exciting Side of the Crossover SUV Segment with the Crosstrek

If you're looking for something as fun as it is functional, you'll want to check out the ultra-modern, ultra-capable Subaru Crosstrek. You may know it from its famous orange paint color and, of course, its reputation for rugged Subaru capability. (Don't worry; there are more subdued exterior colors available.)  This compact crossover SUV delivers a ton of off-road capability, high-tech safety, and daily-driver comfort. We invite Kingston, Wappingers Falls, Rhinebeck and Catskill area drivers to visit the Colonial Subaru to experience the unique design of the latest Crosstrek model for yourself!

Need some additional incentives to drop by the dealership? See how the Crosstrek offers more sporty substance than the subcompact Honda HR-V and compact Ford Escape by scrolling through the comparison below:

The Subaru Crosstrek versus the Honda HR-V

  • While all-wheel drive is available at an extra cost on the HR-V, the Crosstrek comes equipped with AWD right out of the gate. And on top of that, this is a Subaru symmetrical AWD system, meaning that it's more efficient than conventional systems.
  • The Crosstrek is adventure-ready with standard symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD). The HR-V has standard front-wheel drive, and you have to pay more for AWD.
  • Connectivity also comes standard, as all Crosstrek models come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment interface with smartphone app integration. You have to invest in a more expensive HR-V model for these amenities.
  • The Crosstrek's potent four-cylinder engine produces more power than the HR-V. There's also a manual transmission option for more driver engagement. The HR-V can only come equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission.
  • The Crosstrek is longer, wider, and taller than the HR-V, which adds up to greater maximum cargo space.
  • Available Subaru EyeSight® driver assist technologies furnishes the Crosstrek with adaptive cruise control, frontal collision mitigation, rear vehicle detection technologies, and more. The HR-V cannot come equipped with any of these features.

The Subaru Crosstrek versus the Ford Escape

  • You can invest in the Crosstrek for less, as it's available at a lower starting price than the Escape.
  • Even with that more affordable price, the Crosstrek comes with more capability thanks to standard AWD. Escape drivers have to pay more for AWD.
  • And speaking of adventure-readiness, the Crosstrek also come equipped with thoughtful features such as standard roof rails and fog lights. With the Escape you have to invest in a higher trim for these features.
  • Greater efficiency and a manual transmission option gives the Crosstrek an edge over the automatic-only Escape.
  • Even with all of that off-road capability, the Crosstrek still manages to offer more modern features as standard, including a touchscreen infotainment interface with smartphone app integration. The Escape buries these amenities in higher trims.
